MEET HESTIAS
Marco Polo describes a bridge, stone by stone. "But which is the stone carries the bridge?" asks Kublai Khan. "The bridge is not supported by one stone or another, but by the line of the arch that they form," says Marco. Kublai Khan remains silent for a while, reflecting and then he adds, "Why do you speak to me of the stones? It is only the arch that matters to me." Without stones there is no arch." * (Italo Calvino, Invisible Cities)
Since the ancient times, mankind sought the possibility of raising the quality of living; built culture with artistic advances and civilizations with engineering solutions. We can't distinguish culture from the axis of civilization; and we can't cut out aesthetic perception from engineering either. We may find the correct line of the arch with the help of engineering, though we can't build a bridge without the stones that bear philosophical and architectural values. These bridges connect people for generations, thus stands as the symbol of civilization.
As Hestias, we adopt the principle of building a civilization for them, not just houses or living spaces.
